Loris began quilting in 1984 after a long background of sewing and garment making. After several years making traditional quilts, she changed her focus to art quilts, experimenting with new techniques and using alternative materials. Technology plays an important role in Loris's quiltmaking: digital photography has led her to an interest in translating portraiture and events into representational quilt works. Loris teaches classes at a local quilt shop and has had quilts exhibited across the country. She enjoys dyeing, discharging and screenprinting fabric and creating her own surface designs. |
